How to make Squarespace AI-ready
Squarespace is server-rendered (good for AI). Here's how to get it found, read and cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Claude & Gemini — then verify with a free scan.
The universal checklist
- Let AI crawlers in (robots.txt: allow GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended)
- Make sure content is in the HTML, not JavaScript-only
- Add Schema.org JSON-LD structured data
- Publish an llms.txt and an XML sitemap
- Set title, meta description, canonical and Open Graph tags
On Squarespace specifically
- Add schema and OG via Code Injection (Header).
- robots.txt is largely managed by Squarespace; you can't freely edit AI-bot rules — verify it isn't blocking them.
- Serving /llms.txt requires a proxy in front (Cloudflare Worker).
